District 3 Hamilton County Commissioner Mitch McClure is hosting a town-hall style public meeting focusing on gang violence and violence in general in the community at the Hixson Middle School gym Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.

Hamilton Family YMCA’s Water Safety Awareness Program teaches school children how to have fun at the pool while being aware of the dangers of both water and sun. Aquatic director Carrie Kuehn is looking for area schools that would like to have the program paired with students’ physical education classes.

RED BANK: Kids First Coupon Books on sale Saturday

Hamilton County Schools will kick off the sale of the Kids First Coupon Books on Saturday and will sell them through Sept. 24. The cost is still $10 and the schools get to keep $7 from every book they sell.
