On Thursday, July 1, there will be an open office day in Catoosa County, giving residents an opportunity to meet individually with state and federal representatives about any personal issues they may have concerning state and federal government.

The Dade County Republican Party Political Forum is set for today with a 9 a.m. breakfast and candidates in the Dade County Commission room at 10 a.m. in the county courthouse at 12371 S. Main St. All candidates welcome and the event is open to the public. Friends of the Park at Cloudland meets every fourth Thursday at 7 p.m. in the park’s Interpretive Building.
On June 19, the city of Fort Oglethorpe will host another Cruise-In at the Park. There will be a 50/50 cash drawing, door prizes, plus a deejay to play ’50s and ’60s music all day long. All vehicles are welcome at no charge. The cruise-in will be along Highway 27 between Highway 2A and Battlefield Parkway. We will have food vendors all along the road. The Bethlehem Church Cemetery Group met the first Sunday in June. Gary Moore is chairman of the group and led the cemetery portion. Donna Street showed pictures of many of those buried there. Families included Brown, Cole, Cureton, Dabbs/Doyle/Morrison, Patterson/Moore and Street.

The Catoosa County Recreation Department is announcing that it is once again hosting the Dizzy Dean 7-Year-Old Baseball World Series from July 15-22 at Jack Mattox Park located between Fort Oglethorpe and Ringgold.
