Cool weather will bring the return of Fall Hodgepodge, Signal Mountain's favorite fall tradition. Now in its 35th year, the annual arts and crafts show features dozens of craftspeople and artisans from the Chattanooga area and beyond. This year's event will be Oct. 2, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Oct. 3, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The show will take place at the Signal Mountain Community Center and Town Hall, just five miles from Chattanooga. Admission will be $2. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. Free parking and a shuttle service will be available.

Let your voice be heard. The Hamilton County Commission is voting at 9:30 a.m. today on whether or not to allow the sale of the old Signal Mountain Middle School to Tom and Monique Poteet. The Poteets’ plans call for the establishment of the athletic club and a health and wellness campus for Signal Mountain. Call or e-mail the commissioners at www.hamiltontn.gov/emailform.aspx. This vote has been postponed several times. Make your plans now to attend the annual Labor Day barbecue, brought to you by the Signal Mountain Lions. It will be a day filled with food, fun and fellowship.
