Congratulations to Bethany Campbell. She was crowned Homecoming Queen for Red Bank High School Oct. 2 during half-time. Red Bank finished the night with a victory against Central High of 35-10. Another big victory was Baylor beat McCallie 24-10, ending the 11 year streak.

Please note the new meeting place for the Red Bank-White Oak Historical Society. They will meet Oct. 1 at Fire Hall Station #2, located at the north end of Dayton Boulevard, next to the closed Bi-Lo store. We hope to have the Nov. 5 and Dec. 3 meetings there, too.

The Kids First Coupon Books go on sale Sept. 5, and most of the Hamilton County Elementary Schools will be selling them. This marks the 22 year, and the coupons books are still just $10. Please support the students. The schools receives $7 for every book they sell.

They say behind every man is a good woman. And, believe me Coach Skipper Fairbanks had a wonderful woman to back up this quote. Carolyn Fairbanks passed away this week, and she was truly the most genuine best friend anyone could ever wish for. Mrs. Fairbanks will be missed by the entire community of Red Bank.

Everyone enjoyed the Hawaiian luau Aug. 11 at the Red Bank Chamber Council luncheon. They presented the Beautification Award to Spirit USA Convenience Store, 5216 Dayton Blvd., and Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace. Both of these businesses really made a difference in their community. Also, new in Red Bank, Pick of the Litter Grooming received the Welcome to Red Bank Award.
