The campaign isn't over for Chattanooga City Council District 4 incumbent Jack Benson and candidate Larry Grohn.
Both Grohn and Benson will be on the ballot for a runoff election scheduled for April 9. In the March 5 election they edged out Ryan King, Scott McColpin and Tom Tomisek.
“There were so many candidates on the ballot for District 4 that nobody came out with the majority of votes which is 50 percent plus one,” said Hamilton County Administrator of Elections Charlotte Mullis-Morgan.
She said all polling places in District 4 will be open for the runoff election April 9 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. In the event that the city of Chattanooga decides to have early voting for the runoff election, Mullis-Morgan said all early voting will take place at the Hamilton County Election Commission, located at 700 River Terminal Road.
The administrator noted that anyone voting in the District 4 runoff election is required to have a state or government issued photo ID to vote.
Voter registration cards are not necessary but provide helpful information about which precinct voters need to vote at, she said.

Everyone (anyone) planning on voting for "stab em in the back Jack" needs to travel down Shallowford Road on the way to the polls. That is a prime example of Jack Benson's leadership. Just like his actions on the council, it has taken 4 tomes longer to get it done than it should (and is still not complete) Cost 3 times more than they said it would, nobody works on a regular basis and is only being done to assist CBL and DeFour.
Jack Benson is not fit to continue another term.
