DUNLAP: Hospice needs volunteers

The Sequatchie County-Dunlap Chamber of Commerce received an e-maiI from Leslie J. Phillips, volunteer coordinator from Hospice of Chattanooga, with a request. They are in need of recruiting volunteers in the Dunlap area. She said they provide the training that volunteers must receive before being able to visit and/or help out patients and their families. I Anyone interested may contact hospice at 423-892-4289, ext. 15336.

The next open meeting for discussion on the purchase of Hidden Golf Course by interested individuals is scheduled to take place on Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. in the city Training Center. Anyone wanting updated information prior to the meeting can contact the Chamber of Commerce or Mayor Dwain Land.

I attended the ribbon cutting at Serenity Pointe Thrift Store, located in the old Family Dollar Store, on Jan. 28. I was very impressed, not only with the amount but the quality and inexpensive cost of each item. The store makes things very easy to locate and the entire building is utilized. It uses volunteers and will receive donated items for those who wish to participate. Call the store at 949-7068.
