Calvin Donaldson Environmental Science Academy will host the Calvin Donaldson Community Gala on Sept. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m., and St. Elmo residents are invited.
There will be music and entertainment throughout the day, free barbecue, hot dogs and burgers plus fun activities like disc golf, face painting and a magic show for the family. There will be an opportunity to tour the school and see the community garden and the outdoor classroom. There will also be a chance to offer your input toward the future of our school.
The barbecue will be served at 2:30 p.m., but the other activates start at 1 p.m. A short program will begin at 1:30 p.m., with Becky Coleman, principal of Calvin Donaldson, Councilman Manny Rico and other special guests. Calvin Donaldson is the public school that serves St. Elmo, so interested residents are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Heidi Chapin, the magnet expedition specialist at Calvin Donaldson.
