HARRISON: Used band instruments needed

Do you have a band instrument that is not being used? If so, consider donating it to the music program at Brown Middle School. This gift will make it possible for students to enjoy a sense of accomplishment through music while developing self-discipline and teamwork skills. Research shows that students who participate in band programs score higher on standardized tests. It may be possible for you to receive a tax credit for your donation. For more information, contact Robert Freeman at 423-344-1439, ext. 270.

The Lake Hills Neighborhood Association encourages residents to attend its meeting on Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church. John McGirk, former president of the Belvoir Neighborhood Association, will discuss neighborhood initiatives. Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for the Nov. 10 meeting when city code enforcement will be discussed. For more information, call 423-893-5448.
