Fresh fruits and vegetables will soon be available in Alton Park. On Nov. 7, the Mobile Grocery Group will set up a fresh produce stand in the parking lot of the Bethlehem Center to offer the residents the ability to purchase vegetables and fruit without leaving their neighborhood. The MGG will locate this fresh market stand in the community for three consecutive Saturdays in the month of November, starting on Nov. 7. Alton Park having been deemed a food desert has sparked much interest in addressing these issues by agencies and organization from within the community, as well as outside groups such as MGG.
