Red Bank Lions Club pecan chair Charlie Steele will help lead the annual charitable sale Nov. 2 through Dec. 24 as 400 cases of nuts are expected to arrive next week.
“I’ve been doing the pecan sale for at least 10 years,” said Steele. “I sold 200 cases myself last year, but I have volunteers at local businesses and schools that help me sell pecans.”
Items for sale include pecan halves, pecan pieces, cashews, pralines, mixed nuts, white chocolate pecans, milk chocolate pecans, roasted almonds, chocolate peanuts, English walnuts and black walnuts. All pecans are $8, peanuts are $6 and black walnuts are $10.
Pecans will be sold at the Red Bank Lions Club Headquarters Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m.
To learn more about the pecan sale, visit the Red Bank Lions Club Headquarters at 3704 Dayton Boulevard or call Charlie Steele at 877-7126.
Proceeds will benefit the Kids Sight Program, providing free sight screenings for youth north of the river. Proceeds will also help the Leader Dogs for the Blind and White Cane funds.
“We buy eyeglasses for people in need,” said Steele. “Last year we bought a $3,000 machine to read documents for a lady who is blind.”
Red Bank Lions meet the second and fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the club headquarters and seek to recruit new members.
