LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN: Candidates announced for November elections

The General Election is set for Nov. 3 for the City of Lookout Mountain, Ga.

The last day to qualify for the general election was Sept. 4.

Mayor Tommy Gifford announced he was running for re-election and is being challenged by former Councilman Bill Glascock in a repeat of the 2005 election.

Councilmen Dennis Eischeid, Sandy Gothard and David Bennett are all seeking re-election. They are joined in the field by Blair Ramey, who also filed qualifying papers.

All registered voters are urged to participate in the election on Nov. 3. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is no early voting period, but absentee voting is possible. Visit www.lookoutmtnga.com for more information.
