ST. ELMO: Chili Fest Monday

It's time for the annual Chili Fest to honor the police, fire and emergency personnel who work and live in St. Elmo. This has become a great annual community event, so your participation is encouraged.

Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Southside Recreation Center, the festivities will begin with lots of good food and fellowship. The emergency personnel are always appreciative of the recognition and the good time, so bring your best chili and other food.

In order to have enough food, residents will volunteer to provide chili, breads (corn bread or anything that goes well with chili), salad, desserts and drinks. Awards will be given for the best chili, so let the games begin! The event is organized by Alison Van Winkle, and residents who are willing to help are encouraged to contact her at dnavanwinkle@comcast.net.
