

The Tennessee Career Center business representative Arthur Moran met with Tony Cates, county executive Michael Hudson and myself and shared information about a program that will elevate those seeking employment in the near future. The online key course is called KeyTrain, based upon the WorkKeys job skills work system. This program is designed for high school and adult basis education (GED) as a first step into the Tier 1 workplace. For more information, contact the Chamber of Commerce.

Tom and Debbie Reese are the new owners of Hamilton Hearing located by Dunlap Save-A-Lot.
The leadership class has added two members. They are Po-Wei Chan of Taipei 101 Oriental Restaurant and Mary Cookston from SETHRA.
The chamber’s Shop Dunlap First video will run during the holiday season on selected channel sites of Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative cable system. This video is furnished by the chamber, and everyone is encouraged to use our local businesses as we shop the holiday season.
Chamber member Flowers & Thyme will have a Christmas open house on Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST and Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST. There will be refreshments and door prizes.
Linda McKenney, a member of the chamber, informed us that the members of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church will conduct a Christmas Shop on Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST at the congregation site on Highway 28.
The Stephens County High School Indians played McMinn Central in Athens, Tenn. Oct. 30 and lost 41-25. Congratulations to the Indians on a winning season and making the playoffs. They will play York Institute Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at home.
We have had several calls from out of town people concerning the foliage, wanting to know when was a good time to travel to our area to see the beautiful trees. The color is full but will not last long, so get out and enjoy it now.
