BRAINERD: Whatley-Brown mourned

The Brainerd community would like to extend our condolences to the family of Patricia Whatley-Bryan and to her co-workers. Mrs. Whatley-Bryan passed suddenly on Oct. 29. According to Beverly Johnson, department of neighborhood services and community development administrator, and as stated in the department's “Common Ground” newsletter, anyone entering the department was usually warmly greeted by her friendly smile and personality. Mrs. Whatley-Bryan had been with the department since 2000 after working for the city’s police department and department of payroll; high school registrar instructor for the Urban League Business Skills Training Center, and case worker for the State of Tennessee. She was educated in the public schools and earned a bachelor of science degree in business education administration from Tennessee State University and did graduate study at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Mrs. Whatley-Bryan was widely known in the community by her warm friendly greetings and outgoing personality. She will be greatly missed by us all.
