ALTON PARK: Leaf collection begins

Fall is here and yard raking has begun. On Nov. 2, the City of Chattanooga's Department of Public Works began fall leaf collection services that will continue until Feb. 26. Call 311 and schedule pick up of bagged or loose leaves and brush. You must pull it as close to the curb as possible while avoiding the street. Please do not rake leaves into ditches or drainage areas to avoid causing flooding. Keep your loose, bagged and brush all separate, as they are processed differently. When bagging your leaves, please use bio-degradable bags. Finally, consider backyard composting. It’s great for your lawn and the environment.
