Shining as a beacon of hope atop Signal Mountain, The Lighthouse Church is hosting an official dedication ceremony for its new facility March 28.

“It has been our mission to start a new work here on Signal Mountain and to be able to have not only a place to worship, but also the facilities for a church daycare,” said Sandra Nicholson, director of Edu-Care. “God has richly blessed us with a beautiful new building and now we would like to invite everyone to celebrate with us as we dedicate it back to the Lord for his glory.”

The open house will showcase the new building for the church and Edu-Care Daycare and Learning Center at 4403 Taft Highway, from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a dedication at 2 p.m. Festivities will conclude with refreshments.

The Rev. Jerry Dean, of Jacksonville, Fla., will speak at The Lighthouse Church for the dedication and again March 29 at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Ed Nicholson leads worship at The Lighthouse Church on Sundays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

The church’s Edu-Care facility is kicking off its plant bulbs fundraiser to benefit the building of a natural playscape area behind the facility. It will be set up like a village with a natural playground with trees, a garden, a sprinkler system, a 30x30 stage for performances with log benches, willow branch tent-like huts and hills built around slides to break falls, according to Nicholson. The outdoor oasis will feature a sand and water area and a music area.
