ST. ELMO: Local restaurant has best banana pudding

There’s nothing quite like banana pudding for dessert, and St. Elmo residents are fortunate to have the best of the best right in our own neighborhood.

This past Saturday at the Creative Discovery Museum, a unique fund raiser was held to allow patrons to sample banana pudding from area restaurants and vote for the best. Guests donated to Pennies for Peace, and then began sampling banana pudding from a number of restaurants. After all the eating and voting was completed, St. Elmo’s own The Purple Daisy was voted Chattanooga’s best banana pudding, beating out the competition from Southern Star, Jenkins Buffet, Hillbilly Willys, Murphy’s Eatz and Sweetz and Shufords Smokehouse among others.

So stop in at The Purple Daisy Picnic Café, enjoy some of their great barbecue, and finish things off with their prize-winning banana pudding.
