Lookout Valley Neighborhood Association will host the 5th annual Red, White and Bluegrass Festival July 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at John A. Patten Recreation Center.
“The Red, White and Bluegrass Festival is a way we give back to the community for the Fourth of July,” said LVNA board member Joe Manning. “Everyone bring your lawn chairs and sit back.”
According to LVNA board member Ron Hughes, the event normally draws 80 people in attendance.

“I enjoy getting people together and having a good time,” said Hughes.
Manning said the festival will begin with a brief neighborhood meeting leading up to the musical performance of Gospel Strings.
“The event is in remembrance of our military too,” said Jim Long, John A. Patten Recreation Center facilities manager.
Participants at the Red, White and Bluegrass Festival can sample water provided by Sonic, watermelon provided by Wal-Mart and snacks provided by McKee Foods and Chattanooga Bakery.
Politicians in attendance will be permitted to speak briefly if interested.
In the event of rain, the Red, White and Bluegrass Festival will be moved indoors at John A. Patten Recreation Center.
Manning said he will also be hosting a patriotic parade down Rondaboo Drive for children riding bicycles at 10:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July.
The event will be followed by a patriotic story told by Manning.
