The third and final version of Sundown in St. Elmo is scheduled for Aug. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the St. Elmo Business District. This monthly event has been very successful this summer and, for this final event, the merchants have pooled their prizes together into one giant grand prize, a St. Elmo gift basket that one fortunate shopper will win. Neighbors can stop by any of the merchants Saturday evening and register to win.

Gary Jenkins, the author of “Johnson House of St. Elmo,” has graciously added 50 additional historical photos of St. Elmo to his recently redesigned Web site, www.johnsonhouseofstelmo.com. You will enjoy seeing all the old photos of homes and pictures in the neighborhood, and you can still purchase the book.
